In the waters deep and wide, A ship sailed with great pride, USS Sustain, her name so grand, A minesweeper, brave and grand. Laid down in forty-one, oh what a sight, By the American Ship Building, shining so bright, Launched in forty-two, with cheers and glee, Sponsored by Mrs. L. L. Dean, full of glee. On a November day, she set sail, To Quebec, she did not fail, Waiting for a convoy, strong and true, To escort them, the brave crew. Through Halifax, they made their way, In December, on that fateful day, To Boston, they sailed with might, After a yard period, shining so bright. Coastal convoy duty, they did perform, March nineteen forty-three, a new norm, To Bermuda, they sailed with grace, Joining other ships, a North Africa race. Random page: UTB-TSC
