In the sky, high above, A pod of lasers, filled with love. The Pave Spike, shining bright, Guiding bombs with laser light. On the F-4 Phantom, it did reside, A targeting pod, with great pride. Replacing the Pave Knife, it came to be, A laser designator, for all to see. The Royal Air Force, they did acquire, The AN/AVQ-23E, to inspire. On Blackburn Buccaneers, it did rest, Ready to aid, at their very best. In the Gulf War, it took to the air, Laser designation, with great care. Guiding other planes, with precision, Aiding the RAF's noble mission. Now, it's time for the Pave Spike to retire, Newer systems, they will inspire.
