Al-'Amid, Ibn

In a land far away, in a time long ago, Lived two viziers, wise and in the know. Abu'l-Fadl and Abu'l-Fath Ali their names, Father and son, they played different games. Abu'l-Fadl, the first, with knowledge so vast, Served the Buyid dynasty, his wisdom unsurpassed. He guided the rulers with counsel and might, Bringing peace and justice, shining so bright. Abu'l-Fath Ali, the son, a scholar profound, In the Coptic Banū al-ʿAmīd family, he was renowned. A historian he became, with a pen in his hand, Recording the past, a treasure to understand. Al-Makīn Jirjis, the elder, his legacy grand, His writings preserved, in history they stand. His words painted pictures of times long gone, Teaching us lessons, from dusk until dawn.
