Al-'Amid, Ibn
In a land far away, in a time long ago,
Lived two viziers, wise and in the know.
Abu'l-Fadl and Abu'l-Fath Ali their names,
Father and son, they played different games.
Abu'l-Fadl, the first, with knowledge so vast,
Served the Buyid dynasty, his wisdom unsurpassed.
He guided the rulers with counsel and might,
Bringing peace and justice, shining so bright.
Abu'l-Fath Ali, the son, a scholar profound,
In the Coptic Banū al-ʿAmīd family, he was renowned.
A historian he became, with a pen in his hand,
Recording the past, a treasure to understand.
Al-Makīn Jirjis, the elder, his legacy grand,
His writings preserved, in history they stand.
His words painted pictures of times long gone,
Teaching us lessons, from dusk until dawn.
Al-Makīn Jirjis, the younger, carried the flame,
A theologian, his knowledge became fame.
He pondered the mysteries of faith and belief,
Inspiring generations, bringing solace and relief.
