In the land of guitars, a song was born, Written by Jerry Lordan, a tune to adorn. Bert Weedon strummed it, oh so sweet, And the Shadows, they made it complete. On tour they went, the Shadows so grand, Lordan played his ukulele, a song in his hand. The group was enchanted, their hearts all aglow, They released their version, and to the top it did go. For five weeks it reigned, on the UK chart, Apache, oh Apache, it captured the heart. Hank Marvin's guitar, with echo and vibrato, Created a sound, that was hard to let go. Jørgen Ingmann, a Danish guitarist so fine, He heard the Shadows' version, and knew it was time. To cover the song, across the ocean he flew, And on the Billboard Hot 100, number 2 it grew. But the tale doesn't end, with just these few, The Incredible Bongo Band, they had something new. Their version in '73, a hip-hop treasure, Sampled countless times, a beat to bring pleasure.
