Bjarne Eriksen (fencer)
Once upon a time, in Trondheim town,
Lived a man named Bjarne, with a fencing crown.
He wielded his foil with grace and might,
Competing in the Olympics, shining so bright.
Bjarne's brother Einar, rowed in the same games,
Both brothers, achieving Olympic fame.
But Bjarne's true passion, beyond the sport,
Led him to a career of great import.
A barrister he became, in the Supreme Court,
But destiny had something else in store.
Norsk Hydro called, and he answered the plea,
Becoming their Director-General, full of glee.
When the Germans came, seeking heavy water,
Bjarne and his colleagues stood tall, they didn't falter.
But alas, he was arrested and sent away,
To a concentration camp, where he had to stay.
After the war, Bjarne returned to his place,
Leading Norsk Hydro with a steady pace.
Chairman of the board, he became with pride,
Bjarne the Fencer, forever in our stride.
