By-elections to the 11th Canadian Parliament
In the land of Canada, so fair and grand,
A dance was held, all across the land.
By-elections were called, to choose with care,
Members of Parliament, who would be there.
The 11th Parliament, it was their time,
To elect new members, oh how sublime!
The Liberals led, a majority strong,
Their government would last, oh so long.
A Ministerial by-election, oh what a sight,
When MPs had to recontest, with all their might.
But these by-elections, were mostly a breeze,
Uncontested, with such ease.
The requirement, to recontest was no more,
In 1931, it was shown the door.
But in those early years, it was the rule,
To dance again, for a seat in the school.
So let us remember, this by-election dance,
When Canada chose, with a hopeful glance.
The 11th Parliament, with Liberals in charge,
A time of change, a time to enlarge.
