Ch'en Ch'eng
Chen Cheng, a leader bold and true,
Fought for his country, through and through.
With the National Army, he took command,
In the Sino-Japanese War, he made a stand.
From the Chinese Civil War, he emerged strong,
And to Taiwan, he did belong.
As Governor and Vice President, he served with pride,
For the Republic of China, he stood beside.
Chen Cheng, a man of vision and might,
Initiated reforms to set things right.
Land reforms and tax reductions he brought,
Making communism in Taiwan, a distant thought.
His courtesy name was Tsi-siou, you see,
A name that held meaning and harmony.
With wisdom and grace, he led the way,
Guiding his people to a brighter day.
So let us remember Chen Cheng's name,
A hero of history, his legacy remains.
A leader, a statesman, a man of great worth,
His contributions to Taiwan, a treasure since birth.
