Ctenolepisma confalonieri
A creature dwells, with a tiny stride.
Ctenolepisma is its name,
A primitive insect, not quite the same.
It scurries about, so quick and thin.
But unlike them, it's not so keen,
On human homes, it prefers the green.
Indoors and outdoors, without a doubt.
They explore the nooks and crannies inside,
But also venture where trees reside.
To Australia's shores, where they now stay.
Introduced species, they've come to be,
In this land down under, so wild and free.
Don't be afraid, my dear, never fear.
For these little creatures, so small and shy,
Are just part of nature, passing by.
