En-anna-tum I

Enannatum, a ruler bold and true, Succeeded his brother, E-anna-tum, it's true. He became the Ensi of Lagash, you see, Leading his people with wisdom and glee. Umma, a city, sought to break free, Under their ensi Ur-Lumma's decree. But Enannatum fought with all his might, Defeating Ur-Lumma and setting things right. A priest-king named Illi then arose, Attacking Lagash, causing woes. But Enannatum stood strong and brave, Protecting his people, their lives to save. Enannatum had a son, Meannesi by name, Who honored his father's noble fame. He dedicated a statue to his mother and sire, A tribute to their love, never to expire. Enannatum's legacy continued to thrive, With sons Lummatur and Entemena, they'd strive. His wife, Ashumen, by his side so dear, Together they ruled, bringing joy and cheer. Random page: JDR Cables
