Built in eighteen thirty-eight, By the United States, it was great. Forts were named after Major Lauderdale, A hero's name, strong and sure. With waterways that stretch so wide, Fort Lauderdale's beauty cannot hide. Like Venice, it's known far and wide, With one hundred marinas, it's a yachter's pride. Tourists flock to this sunny place, With sunshine and warmth, it's a happy space. With film and TV, and finance too, So come and visit, have some fun, In Fort Lauderdale, under the sun.
