GWB Bus Terminal
In Manhattan's busy streets, oh so grand,
Stands a bus station, oh so grand!
At the George Washington Bridge it lies,
With buses coming and going, oh my!
Designed by Nervi, a master so great,
The station's architecture, truly first-rate.
With reinforced concrete, a sight to behold,
A robust tour-de-force, as critics have told.
Proposed in '55, a dream took flight,
To build a station, shining so bright.
Nervi was hired, his talent renowned,
To create a terminal, where buses abound.
In '63 it opened, a day of cheer,
But underused it was, oh dear!
So a renovation was planned, to make it shine,
With retail space expanded, a design so fine.
In 2017 it reopened, after some delay,
Still unfinished, but ready to play.
With passengers aplenty, and buses galore,
The George Washington Bridge Bus Station, forevermore!
