Gnaeus Lucretius
In ancient Rome, oh what a sight,
A moneyer named Trio, shining bright,
With his denarii, he made his mark,
Creating coins, a work of art.
A head of Roma, proud and strong,
Facing right, where she belongs,
With "TRIO" behind, a name so grand,
A symbol of power, throughout the land.
Beneath her chin, an "X" so neat,
A tiny mark, a detail sweet,
It tells the tale of Trio's skill,
In crafting coins, with such goodwill.
The Dioscuri, brave and bold,
Galloping right, with strength and might,
A symbol of victory, shining bright.
Below the horses, "CN. LVCR" we see,
The initials of Trio, for all to agree,
A mark of pride, a legacy true,
In the world of coins, he surely knew.
And in the exergue, "ROMA" stands tall,
A reminder of Rome, the greatest of all,
Cataloged as "Lucretia 1", a treasure to find,
A piece of history, forever enshrined.
