HVDC Hokkaido–Honshu

In Japan, a land so grand, Two islands, Hokkaidō and Honshū, hand in hand. A link was built, so strong and true, To connect their power grids, it's something new. With a length of one hundred ninety-three, This HVDC line connects, you see. Hokkaidō's power, to Honshū it sends, A connection that never ends. Static inverters, they make it work, Converting power, a clever quirk. Thyristor converters, oh so smart, They keep the electricity flowing, playing their part. Overhead lines and cables deep, They connect the terminals, a secret to keep. One hundred forty-nine kilometers in the air, And forty-four kilometers under the sea, if you dare. In 2019, a new system was born, With voltage-source converters, power reborn. Three hundred megawatts, a mighty force, The link between the islands, a powerful source. So let's celebrate this link so grand, Connecting Hokkaidō and Honshū, hand in hand. A marvel of engineering, for all to see, The Hokkaidō-Honshū Link, a true beauty. Random page: Ccar
