In the land of DOS, where memories were small, A problem arose, causing programmers to bawl. The Intel 80286 arrived on the scene, But DOS couldn't handle its memory machine. Along came a hero, a software so grand, A DOS extender, with a magical hand. It danced with the processor, the 80286, Unlocking protected mode, oh what a fix! With the DOS extender, software could soar, In a protected mode, it could now explore. No more memory limits, no more cramped space, Programs could run freely, at a faster pace.
