Il-Kullana to tal-Ġifen Cliffs Important Bird Area
In Malta's southern coast, so grand,
A place where birds make their stand,
The Ġifen Cliffs, so steep and high,
Where seabirds soar in the sky.
Rabat, Dingli, and Siġġiewi's embrace,
A habitat for birds in this place,
Cory's shearwaters, they call it home,
With yelkouan shearwaters, they freely roam.
From sea level, they rise so high,
Over 100 meters, reaching the sky,
A linear strip, 47 hectares wide,
A haven for birds, where they reside.
BirdLife International, they did decree,
This area, an Important Bird Area it shall be,
500 to 1000 Cory's shearwater pairs,
And 100 to 200 yelkouan shearwater shares.
So let's protect this precious land,
With cliffs so grand, so vast, so grand,
For the birds that call it home,
In the Cliffs of Ġifen, let them freely roam.
