JFE JustFiction! Edition
Once upon a time, in a land far away,
There was a publishing group, here to stay.
Omniscriptum was its name, so grand,
With books and knowledge, they filled the land.
They started in Düsseldorf, a city so fine,
With print-to-order technology, quite divine.
Theses and dissertations, they would publish,
Through e-commerce bookstores, what a wish!
But some folks questioned their publishing ways,
Soliciting manuscripts, causing a craze.
Appearances of peer-review, they did provide,
But some said it was a trick, they tried to hide.
The Norwegian Scientific Index, they did declare,
Omniscriptum non-academic, they did dare.
And Lambert Academic Publishing, a subsidiary true,
Called a predatory press, oh what a to-do!
But let's not forget, they also had a flair,
For printing fiction, for authors to share.
And once upon a time, they published Wikipedia,
But that practice ended, in two thousand thirteen.
So now you know, about this whimsical group,
Publishing knowledge, from roof to stoop.
But remember, dear children, to always be aware,
Of the books you read, and the knowledge you share.
