In the land of baseball, where legends are made, There lived a great player, Joltin' Joe was his name. With a swing so smooth and a heart full of fire, He played for the Yankees, his dreams reaching higher. Born to Italian immigrants, in California he grew, A boy with a passion, his love for the game true. With a nickname like "Clipper" and "Joe D." so grand, He roamed center field, the best in the land. Thirteen seasons he played, with the Yankees he stayed, Winning titles and championships, his legacy never swayed. A three-time MVP, an All-Star each year, His talent and skill, oh how they were clear. But it was his hitting streak, oh what a sight, Fifty-six games in a row, he hit with all his might. From May to July, he made history that day, A record still standing, in the baseball hall of fame. When he retired, his stats were so grand, Fifth in home runs, sixth in slugging, a true baseball brand.
