Keach's Catechism

In days of old, a catechism was told, To teach the Baptist faith, young hearts to mold. With questions and answers, simple and clear, The basics of our beliefs, for all to hear. Similar to Heidelberg and Westminster, But with a difference, we must remember. On baptism, our views did diverge, A topic that caused quite the surge. The 1677 Baptist Confession, we hold dear, Ratified by many, spreading far and near. Signed by Knollys, Kiffin, and Keach, A testament to the faith we each beseech. Benjamin Keach, a preacher of renown, Often credited for writing it down. But 'twas William Collins, his dear friend, Who helped compile it, till the very end. Published in 1693, by British Baptists true, A catechism for all, to learn and pursue. Later adopted by the Philadelphia Association, In America, it found a new foundation.
