Kwadi-Khoe languages
In southern Africa, where the sun shines bright,
There are languages that bring us delight.
Khoe-Kwadi they're called, a family so grand,
With words and sounds that we can understand.
The Khoe languages, oh how they sing,
Spoken by people, a beautiful thing.
From Namibia to South Africa's land,
Their words are like music, so sweet and grand.
But there's another language, Kwadi by name,
From Angola's past, it rose to fame.
Though poorly attested, its history's unclear,
But we can still learn and hold it dear.
Tom Güldemann, Edward Elderkin, and Fehn,
They studied and worked, their knowledge did gain.
They pieced together the language's past,
So we can learn about it, from first to last.
So let's celebrate the Khoe-Kwadi today,
With words and rhymes, in a joyful way.
From southern Africa, their languages soar,
A treasure to cherish forevermore.
