LOCALAPPDATA (environment variable)

In the world of computers, you see, There's something called an "env var" that can be, A user-definable value, oh so neat, That affects how processes will behave, you see. When a process runs, in its own little space, It's surrounded by an environment, a special place, And in this environment, variables reside, Like little helpers, ready to guide. For example, there's a variable called TEMP, It helps the process find a place to attempt, To store temporary files, oh so clever, In a location that's just right, forever. And then there's HOME and USERPROFILE too, Variables that help the process find its way through, The directory structure, owned by the user, Running the process, like a computer user. These variables, my dear, are quite grand, They've been around since 1979, you understand, Introduced with Unix, they've stood the test of time, In Linux, macOS, and all systems, sublime. Even Microsoft Windows, and OS/2 as well, Have embraced these variables, oh can't you tell? With different syntax and names, it's true, But the concept remains, for me and you. So remember, my friends, when you're using a computer, There's a magical world of variables, to discover, They help processes run, in their own special way, In the world of computing, every single day.
