In Ohio's north, a talent did bloom,
A musician, a singer, with songs to consume,
Jason Molina, his name we hold dear,
His melodies, his lyrics, brought joy and a tear.
As Songs: Ohia, he first took the stage,
With solo projects, he captured our gaze,
His voice, like a tenor, soared high in the sky,
Blending indie, blues, and country, oh my!
With Magnolia Electric Co., he found a new crew,
Indie fans flocked, their love ever true,
Albums and EPs, he crafted with care,
His discography, a treasure to share.
But alas, in 2009, his health took a toll,
Alcoholism's grip, it took hold,
He battled for years, with strength and with might,
But his organs failed, and he left us one night.
Let's remember Jason, his music, his soul,
Through his songs, his spirit forever will roll,
A poet, a troubadour, his legacy remains,
In the hearts of his fans, his music sustains.
