M 22
In Congo-Brazzaville, long ago,
A movement called M 22 did grow.
They fought for justice, they fought for change,
Their leader Ange Diawara, so brave.
In '72 and '73, they were strong,
Their guerrilla base, where they belonged.
But alas, their secret was revealed,
And many of them were soon arrested and sealed.
But in '76, a glimmer of hope,
As some M 22 members were able to cope.
They were pardoned and given a chance,
To rejoin public life and advance.
In positions of power, they were appointed,
Their voices once again, were not disappointed.
M 22 remained a force in politics,
But in '89, they faced a mix.
At the party congress, they were removed,
From the Central Committee, their presence proved.
The M 22 Movement had come to an end,
But their legacy, in history, will always transcend.
