Mhamed Yazid

In Blida town, Mhamed was born, With a spirit fierce and strong. He joined the PPA, a nationalist band, Fighting for Algeria's freedom, hand in hand. To Paris he went, for studies grand, But his heart still beat for his homeland. In the MTLD, he took his stand, A member of the central committee, oh so grand. In '48, he faced a trial, For carrying documents that were seen as vile. Two years in prison, he had to endure, But his spirit remained steadfast and pure. Accused by Messali Hadj, his leader dear, Of ties too close to the French, it was clear. To Cairo he went, to the FLN he did steer, Representing them in New York, without fear.
