Na-ha-ch'u

In Manchuria's land, so wide and grand, Lived Naghachu, a Mongol leader so grand. He ruled with might, his tribes by his side, In Rehe and Liaoning, his power did reside. With forces so strong, numbering in the thousands, He dreamed of restoring the Mongols to power, so grand. But the Ming dynasty, newly founded and bold, Sent a campaign to attack, their story to unfold. In 1387, the Ming's diplomacy did succeed, Naghachu surrendered, his power receded. To Nanjing he was sent, with officers and kin, A marquisate granted, a new life did begin. A stipend of grain, two thousand piculs so fine, An estate in Jiangxi, a mansion so divine. But alas, his fate was not meant to be, For on August 31st, 1388, he met his destiny. Perhaps it was the alcohol, a tragic end indeed, Naghachu's life cut short, a sorrowful deed.
