In Gothenburg, a city grand, With fortifications, strong and planned. Embankments tall, along the moat, To protect the city, they were afloat. The moat was dug, so wide and deep, A watery barrier, the city to keep. With walls of earth, they stood so tall, Guarding Gothenburg, one and all. Sweden's gateway to the sea, Gothenburg's fortifications, a sight to see. Defending the city, with all their might, Keeping enemies at bay, day and night. The North Sea and Atlantic's embrace, Gothenburg's link to a watery space. The fortifications, a shield so strong, Protecting the city, all day long. So let us remember, the fortifications true, In Gothenburg's history, they played their due. A reminder of the past, standing proud, Guarding the city, with strength endowed.
