OV-103 Discovery
In the land of stars and dreams so high,
A spacecraft soared across the sky.
Its name was Discovery, oh so grand,
A marvel of science, built by hand.
With wings that spread like a mighty bird,
It journeyed to space, its engines heard.
Launching from Earth with a fiery roar,
To explore the heavens and so much more.
Thirty-nine times it took to the sky,
A record that no other could deny.
Over 27 years, it flew with grace,
More spaceflights than any in the race.
Heat-resistant tiles, like armor strong,
Protected Discovery all along.
Through re-entry's heat, it safely glided,
With science and knowledge, it was provided.
Now retired, it rests with pride,
In a museum, where dreams reside.
Children marvel at its wondrous sight,
Inspiring them to reach for the light.
