Oxacis trimaculata
A False Blister Beetle, with spots on its sides.
Oxacis trimaculata, its scientific name,
A creature of beauty, not seeking for fame.
Its body, slender and long, as it scurries by.
In North America too, this beetle is found,
In forests and meadows, it can be around.
For this beetle can cause a blister surprise.
Its defense mechanism, a toxic secretion,
To keep predators away, it's their protection.
With its spots and its colors, like a shining star.
But remember, dear children, to treat it with care,
For nature's creatures, we must always be aware.
Teaching us about nature, both day and night.
Let's cherish and protect, every creature we see,
For they are all part of our incredible biodiversity.
