PICT
In the land of Macintosh, long ago,
A format was born, a way to show,
Graphics and text, all in one place,
PICT was its name, with style and grace.
With QuickDraw commands, it came to be,
A series of codes, for all to see,
Compact and efficient, PICT 1 it was,
With byte opcodes, a memory buzz.
But Macintosh grew, and colors came,
PICT 2 emerged, with a brand new name,
16-bit opcodes, a utility boost,
Enhancing PICT's power, from coast to coast.
A picture could be recorded with ease,
Commands encoded, like a gentle breeze,
Saved as a resource, to play back later,
PICT files, a creative creator.
But times have changed, Mac OS X arrived,
QuickDraw was gone, PICT was deprived,
PDF took its place, as the metafile king,
But PICT's legacy, in many apps still sings.
So remember dear children, the tale of PICT,
A format of graphics, so clever and neat,
From Macintosh's past, it brought joy and delight,
And its memory lives on, shining bright.
