In India's land, so vast and grand, Lived a writer, oh so grand, P.Y. Deshpande, his name so fine, In Marathi language, his words did shine. A man of many talents, he did possess, Novelist, journalist, and philosopher no less, With his pen, he weaved tales so true, Bringing wisdom and joy to me and you. In the Provisional Parliament, he did serve, Representing Madhya Pradesh with verve, A voice for the people, strong and clear, Fighting for justice, year after year. His wife, Vimalabai, a poet so bright, A minister of Central Provinces in her own right, Together they stood, side by side, In the pursuit of freedom, with love as their guide. P.Y.
