Pci-x
In the world of computers, there's a bus so grand,
It's called PCI-X, oh isn't it grand?
It's a standard that's used by servers and more,
For higher bandwidth, it's what they adore.
With a modified protocol, it supports high speed,
Up to 133 MHz, oh yes indeed!
But that's not all, there's more to explore,
PCI-X 2.0 added speeds up to 533 MHz, for sure!
The slot is the same, a 3.3 V PCI,
With the same size and pin assignments, you see.
The electrical specs are stricter, it's true,
But compatibility remains, through and through.
Most PCI-X devices use the 64-bit slot,
At 130 mm long, it's quite a lot.
But don't you worry, it's fully specified,
For both 32-bit and 64-bit, it's recognized.
And let's not forget, there's a 16-bit variant too,
For embedded applications, it's something new.
But now in modern designs, it's been replaced,
By PCI Express, a different interface embraced.
So remember PCI-X, with its higher speed,
A bus for servers and workstations, indeed.
But now it's time to say goodbye,
To this nursery rhyme about PCI-X, oh my!
