Pádraig Mac Shea
Pauric McShea, a Gaelic star,
Played football near and far.
With Aodh Ruadh, he did his best,
And for Donegal, he was truly blessed.
As a full-back, strong and tall,
He stood proud, defending all.
In '67, a game to remember,
Scoring high against Armagh, a September to treasure.
In '72, with a victorious cheer,
Donegal won the Ulster Championship that year.
And as captain in '74, he led the way,
Lifting the trophy, a glorious day.
Off the field, his wisdom he'd share,
As a pundit, his words filled the air.
Writing columns, analyzing the game,
McShea's Say, gaining much acclaim.
In '92, part of the backroom team,
On TV, his walkie-talkie gleamed.
Coaching success in '96, he did find,
A true legend, in the hearts of his kind.
Oh, Pauric McShea, a Gaelic star so bright,
Forever remembered, in Donegal's light.
