Q J Exp Psychol A
In the United Kingdom, a society so grand,
The EPS, oh, it's quite renowned!
Experimental Psychology, their aim,
To study the mind, and play the brain game.
Oliver L. Zangwill, a name so fine,
In 1946, he formed the line.
The Experimental Psychology Group was born,
With research and communication, they adorned.
In St. John's College, they gathered with glee,
Professor Bartlett's rooms, a sight to see.
The first meeting held, so full of cheer,
Exploring the mind, year after year.
Guidelines were published, oh, how they cared,
For members who worked with animals, they shared.
Co-operating with The British Psychological Society,
Promoting ethical practices, with great piety.
In 1958, a change took place,
The Experimental Psychology Group embraced.
Becoming the EPS, a new name to wear,
With W. E. Hick, their president, to lead and to share.
