Qoheleth
In Jerusalem, long ago,
A wise king named Kohelet we know.
He pondered life's meaning, so profound,
And this is what he found.
"Vanity of vanities!" he cried,
All is futile, he implied.
Life's like a vapor, here and gone,
What profit is there toiling on?
The wise and foolish, both will see,
That death awaits them, it's their decree.
So why not enjoy each passing day,
With simple pleasures along the way?
Eating, drinking, and work with delight,
Gifts from God, shining so bright.
For in these moments, joy is found,
In the simple wonders that abound.
Fear God and keep His commands,
For this is the duty of all lands.
Every deed, hidden or seen,
Will be judged by the heavenly King.
