RNAS Merganser
In a land of hills and sea so blue,
There stood a station, RNAS Rattray, true.
Sailors took to the sky, oh so high,
With wings of steel, they learned to fly.
HMS Merganser, a name so grand,
A place where dreams would surely land.
Crimond Airfield, where planes would soar,
The Royal Navy's pride, forevermore.
The Flying Sailors, brave and bold,
Their stories of adventure, never old.
In Aberdeenshire, they called it home,
A place where dreams of flight would roam.
Rattray Aerodrome, a place of wonder,
Where pilots trained and skies they'd plunder.
With courage and skill, they took to the air,
Their wings spread wide, without a care.
Now let's remember, the sailors of the sky,
Their legacy soars, as time goes by.
In RNAS Rattray, their spirits remain,
Forever in our hearts, their memory will sustain.
