In Duluth, Minnesota, it was designed,
The Vision Jet, so sleek and refined.
A single-engine jet, light as can be,
Flying high in the sky, for all to see.
Unveiled in 2007, a mock-up so grand,
A prototype followed, taking to the land.
On July 3rd, 2008, its maiden flight,
A momentous occasion, a true delight.
Development slowed, funds were not there,
But in 2011, a Chinese enterprise did care.
CAIGA bought Cirrus, and the project thrived,
With funding secured, the Vision Jet survived.
In 2014, the first prototype flew,
Followed by two more, a remarkable crew.
The FAA granted a type certificate with glee,
On October 28th, 2016, a moment to see.
Deliveries started, on December 19th,
200 jets flying, a sight to be seen.
From 2018 to 2022, it soared high,
The most-delivered business jet, oh my!
Powered by a Williams FJ33 turbofan,
The Vision Jet flies, according to plan.
Pressurized and low-winged, it takes flight,
Cruising at 300 knots, a true delight.
With a range of over 1,200 nautical miles,
It travels far, across oceans and isles.
And in times of emergency, it's prepared,
With a parachute and autoland, it's truly cared.
Reviews compare it to turboprops so grand,
A high-performance jet, they understand.
In 2018, it won the Collier Trophy,
For its achievement in aeronautics, oh so worthy.
The first certified single-engine civilian jet,
The Vision Jet, a marvel, we won't forget.
So let's look up to the sky, with awe and cheer,
For the Vision Jet, flying high, year after year.
