In sunny California, where the desert meets the sky, There's a road called State Route 111, oh my, oh my! It stretches through the valleys, a retail corridor so grand, With shops and stores aplenty, it's a sight to understand. From Calexico it begins, at Imperial Avenue and 1st Street, A gateway to adventure, where the desert air is sweet. Through the Coachella Valley it winds, with beauty all around, A famous resort destination, where joy and fun are found. The road runs through the Imperial Valley, a land so vast and wide, With fields of crops and farms, where nature's bounty does reside. And along the Salton Sea, on the eastern shore it goes, A shimmering oasis, where birds and wildlife pose. But its journey doesn't end there, oh no, it carries on, Through the Palm Springs city limits, where the sun always shone. At Interstate 10, its northern terminus lies, Near Whitewater's community, under clear blue skies. So let's hop on State Route 111, and take a scenic ride, Through the desert's golden landscape, with wonders to confide.
