In New York City, it did reside, A financial group, with great pride. SVB Financial Group, its name so grand, But alas, it faced a bank run, unplanned. Silicon Valley Bank, its main business unit, But in March 2023, it faced a dispute. The bank failed, oh what a shame, And SVB Financial Group was not the same. Once a member of the S&P 500, But on March 15, it was no longer so nifty. The index bid it farewell, with a sigh, As SVB Financial Group said goodbye. With 164 subsidiaries, it did boast, A network of companies, from coast to coast. SVB Capital, a venture capital arm, Managing funds, with great charm. Nine point five billion, oh what a treasure, Invested in ventures, with great measure. For clients and the bank, it did strive, To make their investments come alive. Silicon Valley Bank and SVB Private too, Offering services, just for a few. Private banking and investment advice, For high-net-worth individuals, oh so nice. But alas, they faced a different fate, Placed in receivership, it was their state. First Citizens Bank, they were sold, A new chapter, waiting to unfold. SVB Securities, sold to its management dear, Leerink Partners, a new name to cheer. The journey of SVB Financial Group, now done, But its legacy in the financial world, forever spun.
