In Mendocino County, so far away, Lies a village where Pomo used to stay. Shiegho, a settlement, small and quaint, Where history and culture gently paint. Near Hopland it stood, by the riverside, A place where Pomo people lived with pride. Though its precise location remains unknown, Its spirit and stories have surely grown. Shiegho, a tribe or village, so small, Where children played and laughter would enthrall. Their homes and hearths, filled with warmth and cheer, A close-knit community, oh so dear. The Pomo people, with their rich heritage, Passed down traditions from age to age. Their customs and language, a precious treasure, Preserved in memories, beyond measure.
