In the land of cars so grand, There's one that's truly in demand. The Mercedes-Benz SL, oh so fine, A sports car that will make you shine. Born in fifty-four, it came to be, A grand touring car, for all to see. The SL, a name so cool, Sport-Leicht, the Germans rule. At first, a racer it did roam, No plans for streets, just tracks to roam. But Max Hoffman, with a clever thought, Said, "Let's bring this beauty to the lot!" In the United States, it found its place, For wealthy folks with a need for pace. After the war, luxury they sought, And the SL was the car they bought.
