Ts'ao Chih
In ancient China's land so grand,
There lived a prince, oh so grand.
Cao Zhi was his noble name,
With poetry, he gained great fame.
A son of Cao Cao, mighty and bold,
He wrote words that were pure gold.
Captivating hearts with every psalm.
But alas, a power struggle ensued,
With his brother, he fiercely feud.
Cao Pi became the emperor, it's true,
And poor Cao Zhi felt so blue.
Ostracized and kept from the throne,
Politics, he was not allowed to own.
Yet, undeterred, he wrote with might,
His words shining like stars at night.
Cao Zhi's poetry, forever adored,
In Jian'an style, his words soared.
Though denied power, he found his way,
