A minelaying submarine, a tale I will tell. SM UC-27, her name so grand, In the German Imperial Navy, she took her stand. She sailed the waters, under a silver moon. Commissioned in July, ready for the fight, UC-27 set sail, with all her might. To sink the enemy ships, far and near. With torpedoes and mines, she caused quite a stir, Sinking 58 vessels, her victories did occur. A ship called SS Skifted, its story to be told. Carrying many souls, on a December morn, It met its demise, by UC-27's scorn. And SS Skifted was struck, in the dark of the night. Near Ledsun it sank, on the Lemland shore, Leaving behind sorrow, forevermore. Surrendered to France, her fate to transcend.
