UICC/AJCC staging
In the world of cancer, there's a classification,
Called TNM, a global sensation.
It tells us how tumors spread and grow,
With codes and stages, it helps us know.
T is for tumor, the primary site,
It tells us its size and if it's taking flight.
Has it invaded nearby tissue, we ask?
T1, T2, or T3, we unmask.
N is for lymph nodes, nearby and close,
Are they involved? That's what we suppose.
N0 means they're clear, N1 means they're there,
The stage of the cancer, we begin to share.
M is for metastasis, a word quite grand,
Has the cancer spread to a distant land?
M0 means it's contained, M1 means it's spread,
With this information, we move ahead.
TNM, a system so widely used,
By doctors and researchers, it's not confused.
It helps us understand the cancer's progression,
And guides us in treating this difficult lesson.
