UV-light

In the sky so high, the Sun shines so bright, With a special light, called ultraviolet, It's higher than what our eyes can see, But it's important for you and me. Ultraviolet rays, they come from the Sun, About 10% of the light, oh what fun! They help plants grow, and warm up the land, But too much exposure, can cause a tan. Short-wave UV light, it's powerful and strong, It can damage DNA, that's just wrong! It sterilizes surfaces, keeping them clean, But for our skin, it can be mean. Suntan and sunburn, we've all felt the pain, UV light from the Sun, can cause that strain. So remember to wear sunscreen, when you go outside, Protect your skin, with a hat and hide.
