In a land far away, where the winters are cold, Lived a skater named Uwe, so brave and so bold. With skates on his feet, he would glide on the ice, His speed was unmatched, oh, it was quite nice. Uwe-Jens Mey, a sprinter so fast, In the 500 meters, he would always be last. With a stride like a gazelle, he'd zoom down the track, Leaving his opponents in his icy wake. Born in Warsaw, Poland, he had a dream, To be the best skater, oh, how he would gleam. He trained day and night, with passion and might, To become the champion, in the blink of an eye. In the late 80s and early 90s, he shone, With his 500 meters supremacy, he was known. His rivals would try, but they couldn't keep pace, Uwe-Jens Mey was the speed skater ace.
