VOA Somali Service
In Somalia's land, where the sun shines bright,
Lived a journalist, with a pen so light.
Abdirahman Yabarow, his name so grand,
With words he painted stories across the land.
From the Abgaal Hawiye clan he came,
With a passion for truth, he played no game.
In the UNDP's Documentation Unit he toiled,
His dedication and skill, never foiled.
Across the ocean, to Washington he flew,
As a correspondent, his dreams came true.
For the BBC's Somali service he wrote,
Bringing news and stories that touched the throat.
Then came a day, a new role he embraced,
The Editor-in-Chief, his talent showcased.
At VOA's Somali service, he led the way,
Guiding the team, each and every day.
Abdirahman Yabarow, a journalist so fine,
Through his words, he made stories shine.
In Somalia and beyond, his legacy will stay,
Inspiring young minds to write their own way.
