In Somalia's land, where the sun shines bright, Lived a journalist, with a pen so light. Abdirahman Yabarow, his name so grand, With words he painted stories across the land. From the Abgaal Hawiye clan he came, With a passion for truth, he played no game. In the UNDP's Documentation Unit he toiled, His dedication and skill, never foiled. Across the ocean, to Washington he flew, As a correspondent, his dreams came true. For the BBC's Somali service he wrote, Bringing news and stories that touched the throat. Then came a day, a new role he embraced, The Editor-in-Chief, his talent showcased. At VOA's Somali service, he led the way, Guiding the team, each and every day. Abdirahman Yabarow, a journalist so fine, Through his words, he made stories shine. In Somalia and beyond, his legacy will stay, Inspiring young minds to write their own way.
