WA's grain rail network
In Western Australia, oh what a sight,
The Wheatbelt Railway, shining so bright.
It served the region, oh so grand,
With tracks that stretched across the land.
In the 1930s, maps did show,
Railway lines, where wheat would grow.
Within 48 kilometers, they'd be found,
Transporting grain, all around.
The harvest location, oh so near,
Farmers rejoiced, they'd cheer and cheer.
With ease of access, their crops they'd send,
On the Wheatbelt Railway, from end to end.
But now, my dears, most lines are closed,
Only a few remain, as everyone knows.
They haul the grain, from field to store,
Keeping the Wheatbelt's history, forevermore.
So let's remember, the Wheatbelt Railway,
The tracks that carried, grain each day.
A part of history, we'll always treasure,
In the land of Western Australia's pleasure.
