WDAO

In Dayton town, where music's found, There's a station that plays all around, WDAO is its name, bringing joy and cheer, With urban adult contemporary, for all to hear. Back in '47, it started its tune, As WWSO, under a different moon, Then it moved to Dayton, with a brand new sign, WAVI it became, a station so fine. From big band to country, and everything between, WAVI played it all, a musical dream, But in '71, it took a new way, Talk radio format, with things to say. Mike Gallagher, a commentator bold, Found his radio home, or so we're told, WDAO took its name, in '85 it was done, A station with history, and lots of fun. Owned by Johnson Communications, a minority-owned treasure, WDAO stands tall, a radio station of pleasure, In Dayton's Wright-Dunbar District, it calls its home, Spreading music and joy, wherever you roam.
