In Maryland it stands so tall, The Walter Reed Army Institute, y'all. A place of research, oh so grand, Where scientists work hand in hand. In Forest Glen, it finds its home, With labs and buildings, all its own. The Sen Daniel K. Inouye Building, they share, With the Naval Medical Research Center, a pair. Named after Major Walter Reed, A doctor who helped in times of need. He discovered the truth about yellow fever, That it's spread by mosquitoes, oh what a clever endeavor. The WRAIR is a place of great acclaim, Performing research in the Army's name. They study diseases and find cures, For soldiers and civilians, that's for sure. Centers of Excellence, they have two, In military psychiatry and infectious diseases too. Soldier fitness and brain injury they explore, And vaccines for diseases, they work to restore.
