In the 1980s, it became all the rage, Helping IBM PCs, take center stage. With calculations and charts, it did excel, Making businesses thrive, oh what a spell! VisiCalc was first, on the Apple II, But when IBM entered, it was slow to renew. Lotus 1-2-3 came with a three-in-one deal, Spreadsheets, databases, and charts, oh what a steal! It surpassed its rivals, VisiCalc and more, Multiplan and SuperCalc, it left them sore. Lotus 1-2-3 was the spreadsheet king, In the 80s and 90s, it made hearts sing. But then came Windows, with its graphical flair, Lotus and others, were caught unaware. Microsoft's Excel and Word, took the lead, And Lotus 1-2-3 began to recede. So let's remember the tale, of Lotus so grand, A spreadsheet pioneer, in the business land. Though it may be gone, its legacy remains, In the world of spreadsheets, it forever reigns.
