Ytalk
In the land of Unix, a program was born,
Called Talk, it allowed users to chat and to mourn.
Sharing their thoughts, for better or worse.
At first, it was limited, just within the same,
Users on one system, playing the chat game.
But then it expanded, reaching far and wide,
To users on other systems, side by side.
Though IRC and others came to take its place,
Talk still holds a special spot, with grace.
Included in Unix-like systems, it remains,
A relic of the past, where connection sustains.
On Linux, BSD, and macOS, it resides,
A reminder of the days when chat was a guide.
Children, gather 'round, let's learn from the past,
The power of conversation, how long it can last.
So let's remember Talk, the program of old,
Its legacy lives on, its story untold.
In the world of Unix, where it all began,
Talk taught us the value of a chat, my little clan.
